Football Weekends
Where does the time go? I can’t believe it’s already “Turkey Month!” (As you can tell, I’m very excited about Thanksgiving.
)
This past weekend, my friends and I ventured off to, Jacksonville, FL for the Florida vs. Georgia Football game. We all chipped in for gas, a hotel, and had the best time!
Here are a few snapshots of our adventurous, football-filled weekend.

The first night we were in town, we explored The Landing in Jacksonville. The Landing is a huge outdoor courtyard right beside the water where both Gator and Bulldog fans traditionally spend a lot of their time during the weekend.

That night, I caught a glimpse of a man who I thought looked like Gene Simmons and we sprinted after him. Sadly, it turns out it was only this man’s Halloween costume– which is still really neat!

The next morning, we woke up and headed on over to the tailgate areas. We grabbed lunch at the City Hall Pub a few blocks from the stadium.

Lunch was a basket full of extra hot chicken wings, french fries, and celery with blue cheese. Delicious!

After lunch, we walked over to the stadium and discovered a tented area where many different companies were promoting and selling their “fan gear.” My friends and I explored a few of the tents, but then decided to seek some shade from the hot Florida sun since we had an hour to kill before the game started at 3:30PM.

The game was a lot of fun and we had amazing seats in the first level.

Quick Kodak moment during halftime.

A very sleepy Georgia fan towards the end of the game.
That sums up the weekend! I hope you all have a fun-filled week and remember to stay healthy. With the semester and year winding down, things can get very hectic and stressful. My roommate once told me to repeat these words over and over again if you’re ever overwhelmed: “Calm, cool, collected, relaxed, easy going.” Stating these few words have helped me A LOT throughout these past few weeks and hopefully it will work for you too.
Remember to just breathe and take things one day at a time.
The Healthy, Tail Waggin’ Treats e-cookbook is complete and should be posted on the Alachua County Humane Society website this week. It looks AMAZING–thank you all again for your recipe submissions and support!!!

Looks like you have been having fun. That is a really funny Halloween costume and I probably would have chased after him too. I can’t wait to see the finished product (cookbook).
Looks like a fun weekend! Looking forward to seeing the cookbook as well

Things are SO hectic here, too, and I have the grades to prove it. Sigh. But I love your roommate’s advice!
But girl, you’ve got such beautiful, glowing skin…you in no way are a sleep-deprived, stressed-out college student!
This looks like so much fun!
haha i love the KISS guy!
Sounds like a great weekend! I love that purple shirt you’re wearing in one of the pictures.
The Gene Simmons lookalike is hilarious.
Looks like you had a great time
I love me some football! (especially buckeyes football
)
ahh that sounds like such a weekend
I always loved going to sporting events and getting into the game!
You look so pretty! Nice pics!
You’re so cute in those pictures!!! I’ve never been to a football game before. Actually, the whole act of tailgating and such is completely foreign to me. Hockey games on the other hand, I know. I’m such a stereotypical Canadian that way
looks like such a great weekend!!
P.S. I am going to start saying those words to myself…thanks for the tip girlie!
Even though I am not the biggest fan of football, your weekend looks like it was a blast!! The sunshine is making me envious
