This is the blog where I share some random eats and fun adventures all under the blazin’ hot Florida sun.
My name is Shannon and I’m sun-loving Florida Gator with a passion for food, fitness, and a healthy lifestyle. I recently graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and cannot wait to see what exciting adventurous path life will lead me on next.
Random Beach Bum Facts:
- I’m 22 and determined to change the saying that every birthday after 21 is no fun.
- Favorite motto: “Do what you love, love what you do.”
- Born & raised in Clearwater, Florida.
- I eat like a 5 year old. If I could eat one food for the rest of my life it’d either be PB &J’s or chicken nuggets.
- My family and I want to hike the entire Appalachian Trail together one day.
- Rascal Flatts, Sublime, and Hootie & The Blowfish take over my iPod.
- Nerd alert: I’m a YouTube-aholic & listen to the Harry Potter Soundtrack on a regular basis.
- I don’t like gyms. Running outside near the water > scary elliptical machines.
- Barely ever watch TV, but when I do, I flip between VH1, TLC, and Food Network.
- My ultimate man = Bobby Flay.
- I’d love to sell my car and buy a boat instead.
- Canoeing, rope swings, and playing in old lifeguard houses are normal past times.
- When I’m older, all I want is a house on the water, a man who can grill, and a good dog.
- Georgia is my favorite state. Kinda random.
- Everything in my life relates to a Friends episode.
- Sometimes I take Urban Dictionary more seriously than the actual dictionary.
- I’m not a beach sitter/layer-outer. Skimboarding is where it’s at.
- Last year I interned for College Lifestyles, a website based on nutrition, etiquette, and lifestyle for college girls. Click here to read my healthy & sustainable living articles.
As a recent college graduate, I’m anxious to get back into running and hope to complete the Disney Half Marathon in January. Follow my blog as I learn how to find a healthy balance as an adventurous college graduate stepping foot into the “real world” for the first time.

I am new to the food blog world.. and I ran into your page! I saw the word tropical and I had to go to it. I am complete beach lover and you are so lucky to live by the beach. I spent five summers in Dewey Beach, Delaware and now I live in Baltimore. I miss the beach living so much!! I am very excited to check out your future outdoor adventure pics! I saw the nature trail ones..they are amazing!
