Our road trip first began with a trip to Devil’s Millhopper, a giant sinkhole in my college town.

For lunch we ate at the Great Outdoors Restaurant in High Springs.

The Great Outdoors Restaurant was extremely cozy and decorated with canoes, kayaks, paddles, and other outdoor gear.

I think the outdoorsy atmosphere brought out the adventurous food blogger in me because for lunch I ordered The Santa Fe Sizzler. The sandwich contained Tofu marinated in tamari and spice griddled with onions and mushrooms on whole grain bread with lettuce, tomatoes, sprouts, and cheese.

The sandwich was good, but I’m just not a tofu kind of girl! Next time I’m definitely ordering one of their tasty burgers. The potato chips were amazing dipped in ketchup!

After lunch, we drove a little further west and pitched our tent at Manatee Springs State Park. My mom set up white Christmas lights to make our campsite a little more festive.

It was absolutely freezing! Well not literally, but it was in the 40s… which was very cold when sleeping in a tent.

For breakfast, we munched on snacks in the cooler. I tried the new Light & Fit Banana Yogurt with some sliced banana on top. This flavor was so good!

Thanksgiving dinner was Walmart Fried Chicken and Bread & Butter Pickles. Roughing it at its best!

Overall, it was the best weekend! My mom and I had such a great time hiking and exploring the area. I’d love to make this Thanksgiving camping trip a tradition for our family to share for many years to come.
